This is just one example
of the types of projects that Seneca Steel Erectors thrives
on. A large piece of machinery had to be installed at
O.M. Scott in Marysville, OH. Due to its location and
the size of the components, there was no other feasible choice
than to have it dropped in with a crane. The location
was several hundred feet from where a crane could be situated. This
would have required at least a 300 ton crane. The cost
would have been prohibitive. Seneca Steel solved the problem
by setting up what they called a "jib-crane". They were
able to attach it to existing structural steel midways between
the edge of the plant and the location the machinery needed
to be delivered. It worked perfectly and at a significant
savings to the company.
Below are some pictures
from the project.
